Get Active Coaching CIC was founded in April, 2020 by our Chief Exercise Officer, Martin. The mission was simple, help more people engage positively with physical activity. 

In our first few years, our delivery was very much community based as we adapted to the demands of our members. However, in the last 18 months with our delivery growing, we moved into a private gym in Paisley and adapted our Lifestyle Coaching Programme to support our community to build strength, confidence and longevity. This change has really been a catalyst for our small community organisation building sustainability.

More recently, in May 2024 we were successful with our funding application to The National Lottery Young Start fund and received over £96,000 to support the expansion of our Community Sport Programme. Following this, in June 2024, our first every Weightlifting Club classes started and after a couple of weeks we were full to the brim with waiting lists for each class! 

Across all three core programmes, we currently support around 150 people to get active every week!

We have major plans in the works to grow our Weightlifting Club in particular as we strive towards our next milestone of “1000 Active”: 1,000 active weekly members across all of our programmes in the next 5 years.

We want to thank every single person and organisation who has supported our vision so far and invested into our organisation. With this support, we have been able to impact so many people, but we have bigger plans to impact the lives of many more.
